The Clients I Don't Talk About Enough
When people think about what I do, they usually picture small business owners — a massage therapist, clothing store or contractor in the Ottawa Valley who finally needs a real website. And that's a big part of my work.
But nonprofits, charities, community organizations, and volunteer groups make up a significant part of my client base too — and I don't talk about that enough.
Working with mission-driven organizations is genuinely one of my favourite parts of this job. The stakes feel different. When a hospice, a food centre, or a veterans' program needs a website, they're not trying to sell something — they're trying to reach the people who need them, tell their story, attract volunteers and donors, and show up credibly in the world. That's meaningful work to be part of.
I also just find these clients endlessly interesting. In any given year I might be building a site for an ocean conservation research institute a community health organization or a hospice. The range is incredible, and every project teaches me something.

Some of the Organizations I've Worked With
Over the years I've worked with non-profit and educational organizations across Lanark County, the Ottawa Valley, and beyond. Here are just a few:
There's so much happening in our community — the volunteering, the advocacy, the care, the craft. We are genuinely rich in people who show up for each other, and I feel lucky every day to work alongside them.
One thing I've always believed is that a professional website shouldn't be out of reach for organizations doing good work. Nonprofits and community groups often operate on tight budgets, and I try to reflect that in a few ways: I regularly offer discounted rates for community organizations, I provide training so that staff and volunteers can manage and update their own sites, and for organizations that don't have the internal capacity, I can manage the site on an ongoing basis. If you already have a website that's outdated or just not working the way it should, I work with organizations on improvements and full redesigns too — wherever you're starting from, there's usually something we can do.
If your nonprofit, charity, or community organization is looking for a website — or your current one needs a refresh — I'd love to hear from you. Get in touch and let's talk about what's possible.
