Rescuing a Roofer: Why Honest Web Design Matters More Than Ever

This story, unfortunately, started the way many of my web design relationships begin: with a phone call from someone in panic mode.

A local roofer had been working with a U.S.-based web design and hosting company. One day, without warning, they became unreachable. His website went down. His calls and emails went unanswered. His business—built on trust, visibility, and word of mouth—suddenly disappeared from the online world.

He was at the end of his rope. No website meant no inquiries, no leads, and no work.

And, like many small business owners, he had no idea how to regain control of his domain or rebuild his website. He just knew one thing: he needed help. Fast.

This happens more than you think.

Sadly, I’ve seen this story unfold too many times. Many small businesses are at the mercy of web companies that offer all-in-one packages, but leave clients with no control over their own domain, hosting, or content. When those companies vanish—or stop caring—the client is left in the dark.

No one should be left in the lurch like that. Especially not small business owners who are already wearing a dozen hats and working hard to stay afloat.

How I helped:

We moved quickly. I tracked down his domain, helped him recover access, and designed a simple, professional website that reflected his services, his reputation, and his value.

More importantly, I put everything in his name—from domain registration to hosting—so he would never again be held hostage by a designer or agency.

Within a few days, he was back online. His phone started ringing again. His business was saved.

This Is Why I Do What I Do

As a web designer who specializes in helping local businesses, I believe strongly that relationships matter more than anything. I’m not here to trap anyone in confusing contracts or keep control of your website behind a wall of tech talk.

My job is to empower you, make the process clear and friendly, and build something that truly supports your business. Helping someone recover from a stressful situation and get back on their feet? That’s the best part of my job.

You Deserve a Website You Understand and Own

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, ignored, or locked out of your own website, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to stay stuck.

I’m here to help—whether you need a full redesign, a quick fix, or someone to translate the tech into plain language.

Let’s build something together—something that works for you, not against you.

Need help getting your website back on track? Let’s chat—no pressure, no jargon, just honest help.
